国際ワークショップ『Families, States and Gender: Changes in Relations and Conditions』の開催

　『Families, States and Gender: Changes in Relations and Conditions』として滋賀大学経済学部において国際ワークショップを開催するべく、参加者を募った。参加希望者には発表概要を提出してもらうように呼びかけた。その結果、日本を含む8か国から12人が参加し発表することになり、2018年11月15日に開催した。
　当日は朝9時から開始し、参加者一同が揃ったところで、開会の挨拶を田中学部長よりいただいた。多くの参加者が彦根を初めて訪れた人たちだったので、学部長からの彦根キャンパスの位置や歴史等についての説明に興味深く聞き入り、そのような場所での会への参加を皆が喜んでいた。発表は夕方18時まで実施された。
　発表概要を集めた段階で、参加者の発表内容を検討し、各発表の内容により近いテーマでまとめるべく当初申請していたタイトルの一部を修正した。その結果、『Families, States and Militaries: Changes in Relations and Conditions』としてワークショップを開催した。
　各参加者の発表タイトルはつぎのとおりである。

国家に雇用される成員に対してだけでなく、その家族に成員の雇用に関わる規則や規制がどのような影響を与えるのかについて、家族、国家、ジェンダーの視点から検討することを目的とするワークショップであった。それぞれが研究している軍事組織の近年の動向とそれにかかわって特徴的なトピックを取り上げ、発表した。戦争についての考え方それ自体が大きく変容している今日において、なにを焦点化し、それがその組織のどのような特徴と結びつくのかといった点から意見交換を行った。参加者の専門は文化人類学だけでなく、国際関係論、医学、心理学、社会学など多岐に渡ったが、それぞれがまず理論的な枠組みについて述べたうえで議論を展開するように一定の規則を設けたため、建設的な議論を行うことができた。
